Police in Portland city in the U.S. western state of Oregon have arrested a man for striking three women who were walking on a sidewalk, police said Friday.
Police said in a tweet that the three pedestrians were walking near Portland State University (PSU) campus when they were hit by the man who was driving a blue Mazda SUV. All the three females were injured with one of them in critical condition.
The police did not release more details about the driver, who was only referred to as "a person of interest," and his vehicle was also seized.
"The person of interest has been transported to a police facility for further investigation," the police said in the statement issued via twitter.
The Portland Police Bureau is investigating the incident.
