Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir possesses a unique combination of working in diverse constituencies, namely, academia, governments, think-tanks, international organisations, and media. He is widely acclaimed for pioneering new approaches to public policies and designing innovative alternative solutions on the ground.

He has led numerous projects for diverse organisations including governments, development partners and international organisations. He has provided advisory services to the government on multilateral negotiations such as WTO, UNFCCC, UNCBD, besides actively participating in those negotiations. He has been contributing to the multilateral processes as a member of different UN committees of experts.

Mr. Titumir is on the boards of different regional and national organisations and is the founding Chairperson of the Unnayan Onneshan, a multidisciplinary independent think-tank and served on the Syndicate, the decision making body of university. He has been teaching economic theories as the founding faculty of the Department of Development Studies, University of Dhaka and also has taught economics at the Department of Economics, Royal Holloway, University of London, and at the Bangladesh Open University.

He has written articles and books on macroeconomics, structural adjustment, poverty reduction, trading system, regional economic cooperation, climate change, agriculture, biodiversity, education and health.
