Mr. Ye Hailin is editorial director of SOUTH ASIA STUDIES, National Institute of International Strategy, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (NIIS, CASS). He is also director of the Center for Regional Security Studies in School of Advanced International and Area Studies, East China Normal University (ECNU).

He is the Chief of South Asia Studies Center, CASS and was elected as the executive member of Council of Chinese Association of South Asia Studies.

He was graduated from the School of International Studies, Peking University (PKU) in 2000 with a Master Degree. From 2000 to 2003, he served as a police officer. From 2003 to 2005, he was as a diplomat in Chinese Embassy in Ankara. In 2006, he joined the CASS as a counter terrorism expert. Now He is working on Islam issues and South & West Asia regional affairs. He published a serial of essays and books on South Asian studies both in Chinese and English，such as Understanding Pakistan( Hong Kong City University Press，2009) and “Wind over Khyber Pass (Shandong University Press, 2010)

He is current affairs commentator for China Central Television, China National Radio and Xinhua News Agency. He is also ChiefCommentator of International Herald Leader.

葉海林，中國社會科學院亞太與全球戰略研究院《南亞研究》編輯部主任、中國社科院南亞研究中心主任、華東師範大學國際關係與地區發展研究院地區安全研究中心主任,中國南亞學會常務理事，中央電視臺特約評論員、中央人民廣播電臺特約評論員，新華社《國際先驅導報》評論主筆。主要從事戰略安全研究、重點研究區域為南亞及中東伊斯蘭地區。代表作有：專著《巴基斯坦：純潔的國度》（香港城市大學出版社），文集《吹過開伯爾的風》（山東大學出版社）等。
